HOKES BLUFF, A WONDERFUL PLACE TO LIVE
Star Rating - 5/16/2022
We have lived in Hokes Bluff since 1975 and it is a great place to live. The people are nice, the schools are great, very rarely is there a crime committed. We have a public swimming pool, as well as an old mill pond where people swim, there are plenty of sports activities for kids to participate in. City Hall has a basketball court, a softball and baseball field, a newly renovated playground and picnic area, and a fire station.
We have a grocery store in the shopping center and another a few miles away. When we moved out here, I found out that I saved a lot of money because I didn’t think I needed to go to WalMart or the mall every few nights! In my opinion, for 4000 people, Hokes Bluff is the perfect size.
The people here are always willing to help if they find out that you have a need. The churches are great, at least two of them have food pantries and if a family is in need, they provide for them. My husband had a lengthy stay in the hospital and when we returned home, church members had built an 80 ft. ramp so he could get in and out of our house in his wheelchair.
We have gas stations, two wonderful veterinarians, a winery, and some great places to eat. The middle school was built recently and a huge addition to the elementary school should be finished next year.
To me, Hokes Bluff is big enough to meet most of my needs and Gadsden, which is 7 miles away, has anything else I would want. The people who live here make Hokes Bluff a great place to live.
